Last seasons SFTC Big Air
The first event of ATP’s Shred for the Cup Series is coming your way tomorrow night – Saturday, February 5th. The setup is coming together nicely, and will feature 3 unique jump options – one for beginners, one for intermediates, and one for advanced. The jumps will be polished up and tested before the event, and should measure in around 45 ft for the Advanced riders, 25 ft for intermediate, and 15 for beginners.
If you haven’t already, stop by the main office or register online for the series or just the Big Air and save $$! One low price of $50 gets you entry into the entire series.
Registration will be from 4-6pm in the Snowcloud Room (3rd level of the lodge). You will need a form and waiver you can download online or pick up at the Ski Mtn.
Warm-ups for beginner, intermediate, and women riders will begin around 5:30 in the Appal Jam Terrain Park. These categories will drop first, around 7pm. Each will be given two runs on the setup, with their single best run counting as their final score. Riders will be judged on style, technical difficulty, amplitude, and landing.
Warm-ups for the Advanced Skiers and Snowboarders will begin shortly after beginner, intermediate, and women have completed their runs. Advanced riders will be given 3 runs on the 45′ jump, and will be judged in the same fashion. ATP will be mixing it up a bit though, and will be letting riders know immediately after their first drops where they stand score-wise. This way they will know if they can play it safe for their next runs, or if they need to step it up to place higher.
Spy Optics will be on the hill grilling hot dogs all evening – so competitors and spectators can chow down while they kick back and watch the action go down.
Awards will be given on the hill shortly after the advanced runs – Tons of prizes will be up for grabs from all sorts of our sponsors, including a Burton Custom 158 Snowboard, and some Salomon Lord Twin Tips. Shout to all of our event sponsors: Recess, Spy, Burton, Salomon, Canvassed Apparel, Dakine, Never Summer, DC, Spyder, Nomis, 686, Neff, k2, Gnu, Electric, and volcom.
See you on the hill tomorrow night under the lights!
