ATP is in snowmaking mode at the moment, to build up a substantial base to push the area’s best features is no easy task. With temperatures in the teens today, both Appaljack and Appal Jam are closed to allow for the maximum amount of snow possible to be made. Trust us, you wouldn’t even want to ride in the parks when that much snow is being made! Takeoffs get wacky, and all you can do is scrape the ice from your goggles and try to stay warm!
AppalTop is open today, Jan 13 with 3 features, including a 12′ Juice Box, a 16′ Rainbow Box, and a small progression jump.
ASM will NOT be making snow from 10:00am – 8:30pm during MLK weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon)! The crew is planning to get to the mountain way before the crack of dawn to get the Appaljack Terrain Park dialed in for the weekend. Expect this park to be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with several fun rails, boxes, and jibs. The Appal Jam Terrain Park will remain closed both Saturday and Sunday for snowmaking, and we hope to have it open again on Monday.
Winter weather feels so great, conditions are going to be peak-season this weekend, we hope to see everyone out on the mountain shredding!
Don’t forget that the first event in ATP & Recess Ride Shop’s signature Shred for the Cup Series is coming up January 22! The Big Air is always a great way to start the series out on a high note, check the Facebook Page to RSVP, or find more info HERE.
